Lava Blue is made up of five cats from the Delaware Valley brought together by their love for all shades of rhythm and blues. Since 2001 they have been shuffling and swinging their way across the region playing all styles of rhythm and blues: 1930's boogie woogie, the jump blues of the 1940's, the gritty Chicago urban sound of the 1950’s, and Blue Note style soul jazz. Stir these together with their originals and you have the Lava Blue experience.
Our lineup includes: Charlie Gombar (guitar and vocals), Seth Holzman (harmonica and vocals), Paula Skutnick-Henley (piano and vocals), Bob Lombardo (bass and vocals), and Scott Shore (drums and vocals). We will be joined on Sunday by the searing sounds of the Molten Brass (Dick Noble and Pete Jensen).
