
Born to English parents in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Bitch started playing the violin at age 4 because of an episode of Sesame Street, later honing her skills by signing up for fiddle lessons with Andrew Bird. Her first band, Bitch and Animal toured with Ani DiFranco who later released two of their albums, and she also appeared as herself in John Cameron Mitchell’s “Shortbus.” Her latest release is Blasted!, released on her own Short Story Records imprint.
