Summer Jam Benefit for LiveConnections.Org feat. Reckless Amateurs & Past Presents
Past Presents are known for their tight harmonies and variety, providing a wide selection of songs from artists past and present along with originals. This trio with a big sound has played venues ranging from neighborhood pubs to the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in Washington, DC. Back for an encore performance Past Presents played to a packed house at Downstairs Live in the summer of 2005.
Reckless Amateurs plays a rich blend of rock, roots, country, blues and singer-songwriter. From northwest Philadelphia, Reckless Amateurs has been together for more than six years, the band has built a devoted following who appreciate the adventurous repertoire, the distinctive vocal blend, and the good time of an energized live performance. The Amateurs' set list is full of hidden gems from both well-known artists and talented, undiscovered artists, with an ever-growing selection of smart Amateurs originals.
Launched in 2008 by a team of artists, educators and entrepreneurs, LiveConnections.org is dedicated to music, education and support for artists. LCO creates innovative programs for kids, hosts concerts for the community and helps artists build their careers and their connection to the region.
In its first year, LCO’s Bridge Sessions have brought together musicians from a variety of disciplines with hundreds of Philadelphia students, as well as senior citizens and special needs groups, to explore music and cultures. LCO has also hosted workshops for local artists and teachers. In the coming year, it plans to expand its Bridge Sessions, present a community concert series and launch a summer camp for middle school students.
LCO aims to connect all kinds of people through all kinds of music, and is committed to a diverse audience, with a particular focus on underserved populations. Proceeds from the SummerJam Benefit will support this focus.
