"Beauty lies in the hands of the beer holder." - Anonymous
Nowhere is this more true than in Belgium, which boasts more than 450 different varieties of beer. Many of these even have their own customized glass, shaped enhance the flavor of the specific beer it is designed for. Belgium has enjoyed an unparalleled reputation for its specialty beers since the Middle Ages. Connoisseurs favor Belgian beers for their variety, real flavor and character.
There are almost as many beer styles as there are breweries in the small kingdom of Belgium. The choices are endless when you consider raspberry beer, white beer, chocolate beer, geuze beer, cherry beer, brown beer Trappist beer and of course the beer that Belgium is most famous for - the lambic beer, made with an ancient style of brewing, depending on spontaneous fermentation to produce a bone-dry, profoundly tart, and naturally effervescent drink that improves with years in the bottle - much like wine.
This festival will give attendees the opportunity to sample the offerings of over three dozen Belgian breweries. Spend a splendid Sunday afternoon strolling from booth to booth, educating your palate to the nuances of the Belgian brewers' art, while dining on well-paired savory offerings prepared by our Executive Chef Michael Breslin. A special VIP ticket has been added this year to give those attendees the opportunity to be among the first to sample some of the newest and rarest brews to come from Belgium in 2010.
All the while, you'll enjoy live music by the Bob Lowery Band to add to the festive atmosphere.
