PhillyCarShare presents the 2nd Annual Philly Sound Clash
Featuring DJs King Britt, Cosmo Baker, and JHN RDN
Here’s the idea: 12 local bands. 12 songs. 1 CD of Philadelphia music. So if you’re a guitar-picking, drum-beating, ivory-tickling, record-scratching, horn-blowing musician in the greater Philadelphia area, you have until January 31st to submit three songs for consideration. For all of you non-musician types, this is where you come in: you get to listen to all the tracks submitted and vote for your favorites here. After voting is finished, the top 12 bands will be featured on a compilation CD to be distributed all over Philadelphia -- and the top 6 bands will battle it out here at World Cafe Live on February 21st, 2008. The best band wins the Grand Prize! So, come rock out to Philly’s best local music, have some fun, and enjoy the show!
GRAND Prize Package: $2000 Check, courtesy of PhillyCarShare Range Recording Studios Prize Package, consisting of: Recording a Professional E.P. (4-5 songs dependent on the complexity of instrumentation) 250 Full-color artist posters (graphic design services included) 50 Promotional copies of the E.P. recording Your hit single on 5,000+ compilation CDs including free distribution all around Philadelphia. Distribution includes CDs for the taking in all PhillyCarShare cars (innumerable impressions), giveaways at events and possible distribution through partnerships with a variety of retail locations (at no point will these CDs be sold for profit -profit from sales will be used towards pressing more CDs to increase the compilation’s distribution count in Philadelphia).
