Stars of Track and Field have keenly opted to straddle the divide of vintage analog and cutting-edge digital, merging the best of yesterday and tomorrow into a succinct musical package. “We finally embrace all of our influences,” says Kevin Calaba, “and add the colors of Aphex Twin and early Pink Floyd to a palette that already included the Beatles and My Bloody Valentine.” Adds Dan Orvik, “between the three of us there are many influences, the musical direction could go anywhere.”
Critically acclaimed and multi-award winning pop-rock band Eskimo Joe burst onto the Aussie music scene in the late 90's with their debut single 'Sweater'. Since then, the band has enjoyed platinum album sales, sold-out tours, and high rotation on Australian radio, particularly Triple J. The band's 3rd album, 'Black Fingernails, Red Wine', was released in the US this year.
When Jeff Klein was 12 years old he broke his own arm with a hammer, just to see what it would feel like. He loves the smell of gasoline and the taste of blood. He can recite the dialogue from Jaws to you from memory at any given moment. He made "The Hustler" in 17 days in a studio apartment in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The disc, Klein’s third, features contributions from Ani DiFranco, Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirner and Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers auteur Greg Dulli, who co-produced it in an atmosphere suited to Jeff’s darkly sexy, sometimes disturbingly intimate, songs.
