London Meets Philadelphia is a transcontinental meeting of minds and music, featuring a bevy of performers from two of music’s most progressive, artistically fertile cities -- a convergence of live bands and impromptu performances by various local, national and internationally-acclaimed artists who blend their unique talents to awe, inspire and thrill music aficionados in Philly -- and anyone from the surrounding tri-state area smart enough to get down.
LMP’s first fest will not only feature Omar -- who’s back after a five-year recording hiatus -- and the electric, eclectic Duplaix, but also welcome an all-star jam session after the night’s main acts, fueled by mainstays like Rich Medina, the acclaimed DJ/wordsmith who’ll serve as the night’s host, alongside the wildly popular DJ Junior of Eavesdrop Radio, who’ll be manning the wheels all night long.
Presented by Groove Gumbo, World Cafe Live and Walking Bear, London Meets Philadelphia has also enlisted local film don Mike Dennis and his Reelblack Productions to provide visual candy by way of archived film footage, with live art by Saga Moor (Miskeen originals), Fly Girl & Soul One.
