Philadelphia’s own King Britt, one of the founding fathers of contemporary soul, electronica, broken beat, and nu-jazz music, reunites the Sylk 130 collective of top-notch Philadelphia musicians and performers, including Ursula Rucker, Alma Horton, and Alison Crockette, and other friends, for a special evening of entertainment. It’s been a dozen years since the birth of his tribute to the funkified Philly of the ‘70s and the dance music of the 80’s with the releases of two full length LPs “When the Funk Hits the Fan (Ovum/Sony)” and “Re-Members Only (Six Degrees)”. Sylk 130 is back!!! What Gear magazine referred to as a group “that flows like a dope mix tape from a bygone era of Britt’s own imagination” will once again grace the stage for your listening pleasure!
