Eric Benét is on top of the world these days. The R&B soul singer/songwriter/producer is sounding strong, romantic and full of joy on his aptly titled third solo effort, Love & Life.
We fell in love with Eric Benét on his 1999 debut True to Myself featuring the Grammy nominated "Spend My Life With You" along with hits including "Femininity", "Spiritual Thang" and "Let's Stay Together". We weathered the storm with him on his 2004 album Hurricane. Now, Love & Life reflects the Eric Benét that feels confident and celebratory about his approach toward happy living. "There's an energy and feeling that you get from the whole record. The journey is mine, but there's no one who can't relate."

A native of Colchester, England, James Hunter fell in love with Soul and R&B music early on. Later, he cut his chops playing clubs and the festival circuits in England. He's also toured extensively with Van Morrison, singing alongside greats like John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells, Jimmy Witherspoon and Georgie Fame. Still, as oddly familiar as James Hunter may "sound" upon first listen, he actually pays loving homage to all the Soul greats ... unlike any other.
Join him for this special, intimate solo acoustic performance upstairs at World Cafe Live!

Bill Moyers called it a remarkable example of "the simple yet transformative power of music... to touch something in each of us." Variety acknowledged it as "a great showcase for just what incredible, thoroughly accessible popular music is being made worldwide." Playing for Change is an extraordinary effort to unite musicians and vocalists from diverse parts of the globe, while at the same time seeking to immerse audiences in a multimedia movement to inspire, connect and bring peace to the world through music.
Utilizing innovative mobile audio/video techniques, Playing for Change (PFC) records musicians outdoors in cities and townships worldwide. They've travelled from post-Katrina New Orleans to post-apartheid South Africa, from the remote beauty of the Himalayas to the religious diversity of Jerusalem. Their talents are captured in myriad environments: under the sun and beneath the streetlights... in public parks, plazas and promenades... in doorways, on cobblestone streets, amid hilly pueblos. Their performances are subsequently combined in allowing them to collaborate - albeit separated by hundreds, or even thousands, of miles.
