Kingsfoil is a Pennsylvania based rock quartet with a focus on songwriting, arrangements, and energetic live performances. Jordan Davis and Tristan Martin originally formed the group as an acoustic duo in 2002. Following the strong release of their first acoustic album "The Almond Tree EP" in 2005, Joe Cipollini was added on drums, and in 2007 Tim Warren finalized the group on bass. With this solid line-up, Kingfoil recorded the five song ep "Bear in the Attic" in 2007. As a four piece, Kingsfoil has seen extensive growth in the south central and eastern Pa. markets. The band continues to perform on a regional level, consistently adding fans and friends.

Rupa & the April Fishes blend an alternative pop attitude with international spices, mixing in elements of Gypsy swing, Colombian cumbia, French chanson and Indian ragas. The band hold up a carnival mirror to life and present a warped, humorous and occasionally disquieting reflection. Sequestered beneath Rupa’s infectious and captivating melodies are thought-provoking themes that address life, love, art, death and the real and artificial divisions that keep us apart. The San Francisco- based musical agitators are specialists in crossing borders and building bridges and with this new album they effortlessly blur the boundaries of genre and geography to create a sound Time Out has called "global agit-pop".

HOLLER! consists of David Bernay on vocals, mandolin, and little guitar, Barak Cohen on vocals, djembe, and rub board, and Ami Yares on vocals, guitar and banjo. For two years, HOLLER! took Jerusalem by surprise and injected an old style of music on to a new stage in an ancient city. Foot stomping and hip swaying soirées would often characterize evenings spent with HOLLER! The band built a following of folks looking to grab on to the rhythm and sounds of rural and suburban American in a Middle Eastern backdrop. Welcome them back for this homecoming show!

Jef Lee Johnson is a true American original and a true American gift to the musical world. Jef Lee has played since he was a young boy growing up and playing up in the church his grandfather built in Germantown, Philadelphia, PA. He plays everything- including guitar, bass, keyboards, sax, drums and drum machines, and is a potent vocalist of broad and powerful range as well. But it's on guitar that he burns most incandescent, conjuring jawdroppingly brilliant, careening stylistic collisions of legato-laden fusion, angular outness, and state-of-the-art acid-funk. Jef's concept, while wholly and truly original, justly deserves mention alongside such profound, formidable masters as Hendrix and Holdsworth. Jef has a highly expert foot in many camps, contributing to the point of collaboration with such heavyweights as James Carter, Rachelle Ferrell and George Duke, and touring and recording with Erkyah Badu and D'Angelo. – allaboutjazz.com

Oran Etkin’s Timbalooloo, is the new home for all of Etkin’s work for children, including the music classes, CDs such as Wake Up Clarinet!, concerts, books, dvds and television programming. The name Timbalooloo comes form a 3 year-old student from Etkin’s music classes, who went home and sat his mother and baby brother down for a 20 minute music class in which he pretended to be Oran and demonstrated to his “pupils” an imaginary instrument he called the Timbalooloo. The story captures the essence of Etkin's mission: to excite children about the wonders of music and musical instruments and encourage their creative freedom and personal ingenuity.

On his third independent release, singer-songwriter Gareth Asher is coming to age as a writer, delivering a well-crafted and emotionally charged body of work. This new album, set to release Fall 2009, is intensified with bold electric guitars, steady driving percussion, and balanced with lush string arrangements provided by members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Asher recorded the album in home town Atlanta, with close friend and brilliant artist Clay Cook (Marshall Tucker Band, Zac Brown Band) once again producing and mixing

Sean Hayes' worn, soulful music defies easy categorization. Described as loose, dusty, and alive, his songs radiate a free-spirited charm that rarely seems attached to any particular era. The result is a sound infused with eclectic instrumentation and an unpolished warmth. Born in New York City and raised in North Carolina, Sean Hayes now resides in San Francisco. His songs have been re-mixed by DJs and covered by folk artists. His unique soulful voice infects audiences with charm, equal parts affirming and heartbreaking.

Big Blue Spruce plays vintage rock and roll, both mellow and raunchy. With songs about wandering, wondering, and discovering, they take simple concepts and song structures and twist them just far enough off-course to find their own path. Somewhat psychedelic, somewhat southern rock, and somewhat all their own, Big Blue Spruce continues to work in the studio after the 2009 release of the "SEEDS" EP while playing shows and spreading the word to anyone that will listen.

Transistor Rodeo makes its home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania though its members hail from all over the US. They play a rootsy style of rock'n'roll conveniently called "Alt-Country" by the more creative members of the music press. Transistor Rodeo is a five piece outfit consisting of the standard vocal, 2 guitar, bass, drums format with the tasty addition of the violin. Their style has been compared to everyone from Tom Petty to Son Volt and almost never to Heavy D.

As a founding member and principal singer/songwriter of The Jayhawks, Mark Olson spent a decade at the front of the alt-country movement, until leaving the band—and the familiar environs of Minneapolis—in 1995, for the California desert.
While The Jayhawks were experimenting with pop and rock influences and earning mainstream appeal, Olson wanted to strip back down to the essentials. He formed The Creekdippers with then-wife Victoria Williams and violinist Mike Russell, paring his brand of timeless folk down to a desert roots ramble.
After a decade with The Creekdippers, Olson left the desert for the train cars of Europe, creating what would become his 2007 solo debut, The Salvation Blues, a poetic rumination on redemption that earned him comparisons to the likes of Gram Parsons and Bob Dylan.
During that journey, he reconnected with former Jayhawks partner Gary Louris and in 2009 they released their first album together in fourteen years, Ready For The Flood.
His latest release, Many Colored Kite is both a culmination of everything that came before it, and an exploration of uncharted waters.

Vandaveer (Washington, DC) “Vandaveer is the alt-folk song singing/record making/globetrotting project penned and put forth by DC-by-way-of-Kentucky tunesmith Mark Charles Heidinger.”
Joey Ryan (Los Angeles, CA) “From the opening finger-picked guitar riffs of “Broken Headlights” to the bluesy folk rock of “Permanent,” his earnest, rough tenor and personal yet relatable lyrics make Ryan’s appeal quite obvious, and I’d be surprised if his name isn’t one we’ll start hearing much more frequently.”

Breaking up is hard to do. But staying together is nearly impossible. The average marriage lasts about six years, and 95% of new businesses fail within five years. Twenty years of anything, especially Jackopierce, an acoustic duo that got its start playing frat-parties in the late 80's, is hard to believe. Add-in the fact that Jack O'Neill and Cary Pierce did not speak for nearly five years before reuniting in 2002 makes twenty years a downright miracle.
To celebrate their two decades together (and apart), Jackopierce will release a new CD, Promise of Summer, on September 9. Promise of Summer is full of all the things that hundreds-of-thousands of fans have loved about this duo: gorgeous harmonies, acoustic guitars, and songs that take you somewhere else.
